Makigiaqta Inuit Training Corporation Quvvariarniq Mentorship Program Call for Applications Makigiaqta Inuit Training Corporation (“Makigiaqta”) is opening applications under its Quvvariarniq Program for mentorship opportunities intended to provide Nunavut Inuit with education, training and skills needed for employment to enhance their economic participation and opportunities, and to train the next generation of Inuit leaders. Makigiaqta will accept applications from either employers or organizations providing mentorship opportunities to Nunavut Inuit, or self-directed individual Nunavut Inuit who wish to pursue mentorship opportunities. Contribution Program Call for Proposals OPEN! – closing March 18,2022

Makigiaqta Inuit Training Corporation (“Makigiaqta”) is requesting proposals under its Contribution Program for the delivery or development of training programs to provide Nunavut Inuit with education, training and skills needed for employment, and to enhance their economic participation and opportunities. Makigiaqta will award eligible organizations up to $250,000 each under its Contribution Program Policy (the Contribution Program Guidelines are available here). The total budget appropriated for one year under the Contribution Program is $1 million.   Makigiaqta   Makigiaqta was established following a $175 million out-of-court settlement between Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated (“NTI”) and the Governments of Nunavut and Canada. My name is Samara Lyall, I am a 14 year old Inuk from Taloyoak, Nunavut. Currently I am in grade 9. I enjoy sketching, sewing, beading and just being creative. When I was little, my grandpa told me I was talented at drawing portraits but he said, “always put the eyes in the middle”, to this day I still follow his words. The Makigiaqta Inuit Training Corporation is seeking the creation of a logo/visual identity that captures a vision in hosting career awareness camps. The career awareness camps will be hosted with various partners to raise awareness on the career opportunities for young Nunavummiut. At present, plans are underway for science, health and finance career camps.
