The Inuinnaqtun Language – the foundation of Inuinnaqtun culture has less than 600 fluent speakers remaining. By many estimates, it is a language that will be extinct within two generations, unless we act now. Our plan is to train a targeted audience to become master apprentice which will reverse the disappearance of Inuinnaqtun precipitates the loss of culturally unique knowledge, relationships and engagements in the world.

By training fluent speakers of Inuinnaqtun we will equip our communities with language specialists who can provide much needed and high demand support for various services in Inuinnaqtun. We will be able to equip our communities with language teachers who can pass on language to the next generation and provide teachers support in Elementary/Secondary school systems.
